RE: Nazi Germany death camps - Obozy śmierci nazistowskich Niemiec

in #world8 years ago (edited)

This is from the Washinton Post:'In their minds, the murderers and accomplices of Germany, and Poland, and Hungary, and so many, many other places didn’t do something evil. They convinced themselves it was the right thing to do, the thing they had to do. That’s what people do. And that should truly frighten us.'

I live in the Netherlands and there where people here that betrayed Jews and other persons that the Germans persecuted. To my understanding the text in english just speaks about 'murderers' (persons, people that worked together with Nazis) that are from those countries. Which is not the same to blame all poles, hungarian, dutch ... etc people in general.

Sort:

The point is that for most people message is clear - Poles helped Germans to kill the Jews.

Undoubtedly some did, most didn't.
Same with some Dutch, Belgium, French and other European people.
