SLC26-W5 - "Fried Appetizers"

Assalamualaikum my fellows I hope you will be fine by the grace of Allah.

I am going to participate in Steemit challenge of appetizers. I got time to participate in this challenge. I will share samosa with all of steemian fellows.

What do you understand by Fried Appetizers?

From the word fried appetizers I understand something that is fried and is used to ignite hunger. These are normally served before the start of the main meal.



Make any one fried appetizer from given recipes in detailstep by step withpictures . You can add filling or ingredients of your choice too.

I like samosa very much. This is a favourite snack of mine. These are some essential ingredients for samosa:

  • All purpose flour 3 cups
  • Potatoes 750 grams
  • Lentils 125 grams
  • Green Spices (onion, tomato, green chilli)
  • Dry Spices (cumin seeds, coriander seeds, pepper )

These are essential green spices for my samosa recipe. It may be different for others but it is for me. You will love the taste.

I have cut green spices into small pieces. I converted onions into small slices. Tomatoes are also in very small pieces. The green chillis are also in small pieces.

I washed potatoes and lentils and started boiling them. I boiled them separately. I boiled them untill they become soft and easily crushable. It took 10 minutes for boiling completely.

This is process of making dough for samosa. This is very important part of samosa. If dough is soft it will not crispy. If it will hard the upper foldings will be crispy.

I added salt, ghee, and water in the all purpose flour to make useful dough. Later on I will add cumin seeds.

I kneed the all purpose flour. I added cumin seeds while kneeding it. I kneed it until it became hard. I added water as needed. When I felt it became hard I made small dough balls. I kept them for sometime untill the making of the material for samosa.

I got boiled potatoes and lentils from container. I peeled off the potatoes. I added lentils. I added other chopped ingredients such as onions, green chillies, tomatoes. I added red chillies powder. I added cumin seeds and coriander seeds. I added black pepper powder. I mixed everything well.

I pressed the dough balls with pressor. I made fine and very thin sheets. It took a lot of force because the dough was very hard. I was spreading it but it was shrinking.

After long thinning I cut the extra sides. I cut triangular shapes of thin all purpose flour breads.

I added material to the cut pieces. I folded them correctly in the triangle form. I used water to attach the sides with each other. I did deep fry of folded samosas.

Samosas are ready to use now. I sprinkled some cucumber pieces and placed samosas with my username tag.

I thought to use raita. I also made some rounded samosas. I rearranged all these things.

Baked samosa appetizers are here to eat. These were mouthwatering. These samosas completed their task as appetizers.
