SLC26-W5 - "Fried Appetizers"

Welcome to Steemit Learning Challenge Season 26 Week 5.I would like to thank all participants who showed their interest and give their wonderful entries. In this week we will explore the Savory Appitizers , their spices, their cooking , and a food recipe that is the most popular.

In previous week we have discussed about Introduction of Appetizers ; they are small in portion and savory dishes. They are served before the main course and set the tone for the culinary experience to come. Appetizers enhance the beauty of your table and give a good impression, especially if we talk about gatherings. You can show your innovative creativity by adding different ingredients and presentations; in short, appetizers offer endless opportunities for creativity and experimentation in the kitchen.

There are different types of appetizers like hot , cold, fried ,baked ,savory, finger etc. They may categories on cooking techniques , ingredients and presentation.

Fried Appetizers

Mini bite-sized fried savory foods are used as fried appetizers. Fried appetizers have a wide range of creativity of ingredients, from different veggies to different meats and styles. These appetizers not only enhance your culinary expertise but can also be used as snacks to satisfy your cravings. These are some popular fried appetizers including; fried chicken bite, empanadas, Wonton, fried zucchini fries, cheese bites, samosa etc.

Samosa

Today I'm sharing here recipe of samosa with two different fillings and styles. With same dough you can make samosa of different fillings.

Ingredients For Dough:

All purpose flour 2cups
Ghee/clarified butter 3tbsp
Salt as per taste or 1/2tsp
Carom seeds 1/2tsp

Dough Making:

  • Mixed all ingredients with flour and mixed it well. Add little water to make it dough.

  • kneed the dough well, make it smooth and rest it for 30 minutes to settle.

Potatoes Samosa

Ingredients for filling :

Boiled potatoes 500g
Chilli powder 1tsp
Cuminseeds 1/2tsp
Salt as per taste
Chaat masala 1/2tsp
Coriander leaves
Green chilli
Lemon juice few drops

Making:

  • Mashed potatoes nicely with masher or with hands. Add all ingredients in it and mixed it well . Filling is ready.

Samosa Making:

  • make small balls of dough of equal sizes. Roll it and cut it into half. From straight side fold the dough and make a pocket by joining edges.

  • Fill the pocket with potatoes filling and closed its open side by pressing it with fingers.

  • Fry these samosa in oil at medium flame until golden.

Mince Samosa

Ingredients for filling:

Beef mince 250g
Garlic ginger paste 1tsp
Chilli powder as per taste
Cumin seeds 1/2tsp
Salt as per taste
Turmeric 1/2tsp
Green chilli 3
Onion 3

Making:

  • Add some oil in a pan and fry mince until its colour change then add all spices in it and fry for few minutes. Cook it for 6-8 minutes on low flame. Then add chopped onion in it and cover the lid and cook it for 3-4 minutes more. Filling is ready.

Making of Samosa :

  • make equal size balls from dough. Roll it and place it on mold ,you can make it by hands too like empanadas shape or D shape or any shape you like.

  • Fill minced filling in it and seal its edges by pressing mold or fingers.

  • Make all samosa then fry it in oil until golden.

Los aperitivos de esta semana tambien se aprecian igual de buenos y provocativos, nunca he preparado las samosas, esta semana me anoto a participar.
