The pumalaca is also known as the pumarosa, its intense red color attracts visual attention, the birds in the trees are tempted to peck at it, but they do not dare to peck them completely when they have fallen to the ground to avoid the attack of some enemy animal.
When the pumalaca tree begins to bloom, it drops a large amount of floral waste on the ground, creating a red carpet that impacts the overall landscape.
