RE: The Process of Writing — The Old-Fashioned Way
I write by hand. A lot. I have a book next to my bed and most of my long posts start there. Like you, my handwritten notes are much better memoy-joggers than a Word doc on which I have a few points. Even then I find myself reverting to the analogue. Scrap paper for exactly this - under the printer is for just this purpose.
I have been thinking about a post about the writing process, and how long it takes to produce a post that is more than just puff.

I still journal "long hand," as well... just because it feels natural, and I can take a paper journal with me and use it everywhere I go. I just can't get into typing on a phone...
I'm guessing I have enough hand-written notes with ideas that I could probably create 1000+ original blog posts without breaking much of a sweat, creatively speaking... Most of them, of course, will never see the light of day, but it's nice to know they are there, percolating in the background.
Yes, "real" posts do take time... which is probably why I have never become all that prolific.
