I'm from Boise, and I can confirm the growth. WE moved 6 years ago and my neighborhood looks nothing like it did. And yet, it's still quite livable; median house price is around 275k, the cost of living is still low enough and traffic isn't too crazy yet (although traffic jams get more frustrating).

Another thing to say against the state: puritanism is still strong. To give just one example: there can't be nudity and alcohol in the same building. So if strippers show enough skin, you can't serve alcohol
