RE: Youtube Ready to Fleece (Youtube Premium)
I was an early payer of YouTube Red and I'm not sure what this Premium business is all about. I also "Join" (read: sponsor) at least one channel. I'd love there to be more flexible ways to support creators on YT.
That being said, I agree with you; when it's time to pay then people start evaluating their choices. There's not much currently in terms of competition for YT, but with an audience used to paying money there is room for niche providers to grow.
Yeah, i'm a bit behind the times, but just reading that Premium is basically the new name for Red. Yes, somehow get away from the 'everything is free' mentality. The only one I pay is AT&T $80 a month, and wish I could pay someone else and not those bastards. What do you mean by join/sponsor a channel? I'm down to subscribing to 5 now. I have more feeds I find of interest now on twitter for info. I'm off Facebook.
Certain channels, I think qualified by size, you can "join" which means you pay YT $6.5 USD and you get a few early release perks etc.
